"Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal -- we’re in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We’re sorry for the delay and we’ll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience."

So keep you eye on this page, and you might get lucky and get a chance to crash your new computer!

MACWORLD 2009, Live Coverage! One Of The Best Marketing Event

Techcrunch is covering the Mac World Expo 2009 live and I am watching it on my iPhone, time to time!
"9:36 - Whoa crazy. The video jittering fix (stabilization) actually works really well.
For example: If you have two videos of the same scene but with differing angles you can stitch them together for a smooth transition like in Hollywood!
9:33 - Precision Editor allows you to transition separate videos together in an extremely precise manner.
Oh sweet. When you skim a video you can grab a segment of it and drop it on top of another video and just select the audio to overlay.
9:31 - The new drop down menu in iMovie looks surprisingly like the new BlackBerry OS.
Randy Ubillos, Chief Architect of Video Apps is on stage to give a demo of iMovie.
9:30 - iMovie smooths out some video jitter.

"It's best to do one thing really, really well." Global Development, Google Way!

I just happened to be by this post on google.org blog that made me read it rather than ultra speed reading I do most of the time with many articles.
Everyone is aware that SMBs or SMEs provide the ground support in developed countries by providing most of the GDP and Jobs. But that is not so in developed countries and the post goes on to explain how Google is tackling the problem. Great for Google and great for those people but I found a gem within the article.
I came across the "Google's ten organizing principles"! If you have not read it before, I think we all can use the information. Perhaps it might prove to be the best start for the new year. It did to me. I will gather my scattered thoughts, put them in a box, take out one at a time and do them really really well! or convince others to do so.
By the way the ten organizing principles, starts with "Never settle For The Best"!

Japanese language Webmaster Central Blog Launched.

Google has launched a Japanese language Webmaster Central Blog. It will be a boon to Japanese webmasters looking for ways to improve their websites and web site rankings. Even if you are proficient in English, it is always nice to read something in your mother tongue. Another factor is that there might be SEO information specific to Japanese region and Japanese language.
The first of such articles, 冬休みに向けてのヒント (Winter Tips ?) is providing a bunch of information such as getting your site indexed to looking after site links.

OpenX, Open Source AdServer, Going Places

When I asked Will Open Source AD Networks Have Clout?, a year ago, I was not really sure about the OpenAd server by OpenX.
But after actually running the server for experimental work and watching the company grow, things are really changing in the open source or other ad networks. ReadWriteWeb has a good article, on the status of the OpenX, the company behind the OpenAd server.
RWW, aske the company how it is going to challenge the growing Ad markets with many ad networks. The answers are;

1) OpenX is an independent, neutral provider
2) The second difference between OpenX and Ad Manager is that OpenX is open source and "infinitiely customizable".
3) The third difference is that OpenX is "very very feature rich" compared to other ad servers - and not just Google's.
But the RWW article has much more information. As for me, yes it seems that Open Source Adnetworks does seem to have clout.
