Google AdWords New Billing Tab Launched

After beta testing for a while, Google AdWords have launched the new billing tab site wide. The tab seem to be rolling out in stages and you might not see yours right away, but be rest assured, it is coming. When it does come, it needs no intervension from you and there are no changes to your payment or billing methods.
Here’s what you can expect from your updated Billing tab:
  • Get more control. Choose to initiate a payment on your account at any time and use any form of payment available with your country and currency settings.
  • Make payments directly from your billing summary page. You can do this by clicking the "Make a payment" button.
  • Add multiple forms of payments and switch between them. Add as many forms of payment as you want to your account and switch between using them at any time.
  • Use different business and billing addresses. Your business address doesn't have to match your billing address. Plus, each form of payment can have a different billing address.
  • Get additional support. You will have access to improved help content in the new Billing tab and help center.
Some terminologies have been changed;
  • Postpay is now called "automatic payments." We'll automatically charge you only after your ads accrue costs.
  • Prepay is now called "manual payments." You can make payments to your account whenever and in whatever amount you like. Your ad costs draw from those funds.
  • Direct debit is now called "bank account." Your funds will be debited from your bank account.

Will iADs Choke Up Your iPhone Screen?

When it come to a phone screen, be they iPhones or Droids, screen real estate is premium. Does not matter if you are playing a game or using an App, if an ad like iAD also tries to cram the screen, I would find it pretty annoying.
Apple is actively pushing it's developers to integrate iADs in the apps or games and if you are going to ask "So what?" I have a question in turn for you. What if Sony or Sharp sell a part of your TV screen for advertisers. These ads I mention are in addition to the ones you get from Cable TV or TV Stations. They will reside in a bar above all else.

While iADs on your phone might be a brilliant marketing and money making strategy for Apple, it might be a nightmare for users.
Gizmodo has done a nice piece on the whole subject. Their article actually prompted me to jot down this post. Follow the link and see what you think about it, forced iADs in your iPhone.
