Manage your Google Hotel Ads within Google Ad platform

Hotel Ads Screenshot
Google started showing hotel information in a more useful way with sponsored hotel prices in Google Maps in 2010. We all have used this feature coupled to Google Maps, from simple trips to major vacations. Now the initiative has expanded to provide Google Hotel ads to more than 150 countries on Google.com and Google Maps. These features are helping travelers finding hotels on mobile devices and grab hotel deals. I my self is a happy user of the service.
Hotel ads leads to partners grew 65% year over year. With the growth, Google received feedback from ad partners the difficulty in managing  their Hotel ads in a separate platform from their other Google Ads.
Well the feedback have provided positive results, Google Hotel ads will become a part of the Google Ads platform with a new campaign type. Hotel campaigns in Google Ads will launch later this year.

Hotel Ads will launch as an open beta available to advertisers later this year. If you’d like to stay up to date on the Google Ads integration and Hotel Center launch, beta test Hotel ads in Google Ads or learn more about Hotel ads in general, please fill out this interest form.  VIA Google Ads

Getting Your Coffee, Tea and Beer Right With Local Search!

Google Maps is the starting place for us, when we are searching for anything local, be it on the desktop or our iPhones or Androids.
Google (Lat Long) is telling us that this is going to be even easier, starting from today, because search results will have most frequently used phrases to describe the places in local searches.
So I followed up the given example, Rose & Crown, a place we usually hang out in Palo Alto, CA. You can see the results below. I also tried out other places like Peet's Coffee, Pizza places etc and information is beginning to flow.
For now it will work on Google Maps but expect to see the feature in Place search on Google.com and Google Maps for mobile soon!

Official Google Blog: Introducing a collection of favorite places from around the world

Google Blog has a very nice post on favorite places of famous and some what famous (because I did not know about some of them) people.
I was glad that I have visited most of the places mentioned by most of the people. Yes it hurts to think that one day Maldivian Islands will disappear from the face of the earth. I really enjoyed my trips there.
I have dined at Alice waters Chez Pannise but have not had ice cream at her creamery in San Francisco. This is good and hot week hear in bay area and I am going to try those salted caramel icecream.
But there were many other places all over the world and some were new to me.
But the target of this write up is to tell you that not only Alice Waters but you too could get exposure to your business, be it a big huge famous on or tiny home based business, through Google's local places and businesses initiative. You can use tools like Google Maps and the Local Business Center to reach customers.

Google Maps Search Tweak Shows More Results Like "CoffeeShops In Berkeley"

Google Maps went through a small tweak recently to give you more results on a search conducted on a map. Previously Google Maps showed the top 10 results of a local search conducted. Now you see more results and to make the top ten distinct, Google places map makers on them, Others are shown as dots and may be closer to you or to a place you might be visiting later.
To test the feature, I searched for Coffee in Berkeley to see coffeeshops around UC Berkeley campus. Even though I know most of these coffeeshops, yet I found a new one on my walk / bike ride to the campus. But that might not stop me from going to Peet's Coffee.
I think this will attract more business a chance to be prommianant. Advertising on maps!
